Fersoiial Mr. and Mrs. H. McBain, of 5 Lower Hutl, are at present enjoying a lioliday at Otaki Beach. Among the visitors to Raumati Bouth are two ex-Otaki-ites, Mrs.' Burgess (nee Miss Pauline Brown), and Miss Evelyn Jones. The death occurred at Otaki last liight of Mrs. Geo. McKinley, a well known resident of Otaki, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hodges, of Te Rauparaha Street. The deceased who was very popular had been in ill health for some considerable time. The late Mrs. McKinley was only 29 years of age. The husband and little daughter are ieft to mourn their loss. The funeral of the late Mrs. Cliitlick took place yesterday, when there was a .iarge attendance of mourners, among -^lre number bemg several i'rom a distanee. • Beautiful floral tributes were placed on the coffin wliile an impressive service was held at the grave-side.
The high esteem in which the late Mr. "Bert" Pink was held, and l.he clepth to which his passing was felt by the community, was evident by the iarge number of floral tributes and tlie Iarge galhering wiiich attended his funeral which Ieft the Waikanae Church, after a yiio rt, service, for the Waikanae cemetery. The late Mr. Pink, who d.ied in the Wellington Hospilai on Decenlber 26. was 35 ^ears of age. Prior to settJing in Waikanae lie resided in Ohau and Levin, receiviug his education in ihe latter town. He is the son of a weli known fauiily, his father, Mr. W. II. Pink, iiaving predeceased iiim, but his mother sti-li resides at Kent Street, Levin. Besides his widow he leaves a brother, Mr. D. K.
