Fersonai Mr. Tom Atkins, of Rotorua, is the guest of Mrs. Crowtlier, Eust Roacl. Messrs J. Beli and C-. Booker have returned home from an extensive motor tour of the King Country and Taranaki districts. Miss M. Curran, of Wellington, is spending. a holiday as the guest of her sister, Mrs. W. Moynihan, East Road. The veterinary surgeon of the Shannon Veterinary Club, Dr. L. N. Loomis, is at present 011 his annual leave and willi Mrs. Loomis has left on a motor trip to Rotorua. Baby Carnival In order to raise money for the Karitane Hospital, the Shannon ibranch of the Plunket, Society is conducting a baby carnival for all babies up to eighteen months. The competition is by photographs, which will be numbered and be placed on display in Mrs. Hyde's shcp window. The contest will be decidea oy popular vote, and three prizes will be awarded to the babies securing the highest number of votes. The secretary, Mrs. Creagh, is now accepting entries. To enable mothers to have their babies photographed for the competition, a photographer will attend the Plunket rooms on Thursday, January 23.
