Banknotes of the total value of more ' than £1347 were discm ered among tlie ' possessions of an elderlv man who was i foimd dead in an apartnient house at | Yincent Street this niorning. I lo was I \ James McGregor, aged til), a native of Seotland, wliose nearest relatives are I ' not known. ! ] From all appearances a man of ^ luimble circumstanccs, McGregor was ^ f/nnid sluniped across his bod in a bedsitting room where he had lived alone for the past live years. He had nol been in good health and was last seeu alive on Saturdav morning. Tlie money was found sttiffed iu old armv money belts and Ihe poekets and j linings of his clothes. It inclnded 25 £5'lj notes, some Knglish currency and 155 Ameriean dollars, and has all been lianked bv the police pending legal clarilieation of its disposal. Mr. McGregor had been under the doetor and there will be no inquest. His jandlady said Ive was a very resorved man and she did not know lviin very well. He never discussed his private nffairs and never mentioned whether he i liad any relatives living.. J
