Private advice has been received in Wellington from Mr. Vernon Bartlett, M.P., who states that he is not now coming to New Zealand. He is sailing from South Africa for India and Ceylon. He is recovering from illness. Mr. B. Barber, a former resident of Levin and a popular ex-member of the Levin Municipal Band, was a visitor to the bandroom last evening and renewed acquaintance with old friends. Mr. Barber leaves for his home town, Auckland, on Wedhesday.
