OBITUARY

THE LATE MR. KEN TAYLOR j The death of Mr. Ken Taylor, at the age of 52 years, severs a third link. in two old pioneer families, he being a grandson of the late Mr. James Taylor, of Tawa Flat, on his father's side and of the late Mr. William Howell, of Whare Mauku, Paraparaumu, on his mother's side. Both grandparents arrived in Wellington in the early forties. His father, the late Mr. George Taylor, , came to Otaki in 1886, taking up a bush section at Hautere and later continuing his farming career at the Waitohu property 911 which Mr. Ken Taylor, together with his two brothers, settled ontheir return from World War 1. There he lived until in recent years failing health forced him to retire from act-ive work and he took up residence in Mill Road. Throughout this period he took a great. interest in the supply of milk for Wellington, and for a time served 011 the committee of the Rahui Suppliers' Society. In 1922 he married Miss Kathleen Mackie, only daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Mackie, at one time residents of Rangiuru. Of that union there are to mourn ' a father's loss one son, Mr. Ray Taylor. and two daughters, Misses Jean and Elaine Taylor. Also left to mourn their loss are his mother, Mrs. M. M. Taylor, now of Palmerston North, his brother, Mr. Walter Taylor, of Otaki, and his two sisters, Mrs. J. Crawford, of Whangarei, and Mrs. L. Gwynn, of Palmerston North. His eldest brother, Mr. Will Taylor, died four years ago.
