LOCAL AND GENERAL
Personal, Mr .and Mrs. W. Dickenson left Shannon last week for. their beach home at Waikanae, where they will now live in retirement. Mr. L. Small and Mr. C. Sutton were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. F. Small for the Christmas holidays. Mr. Warren Bell, of Rotorua, who was a resident of Mangaore for many years, spent the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. E. Beech, Mangaore. Sunday School Party To mark the end of the year the children of the Anglican Sunday School were entertained at a party in the Parlsh Hall. Some sixty children gathered for the function, which was enjoyed in true jqvenile fashion. Mr. C. M. Cronquest, assisted by Miss Joyce Parr, presented a book to each pupil. The Sunday School teachers were also honoured, the ladies being presented with a beautiful posy and the gentlemen with a buttonhole. Deer Stalkers Successful A party of local deer stalkers who spent the holidays in the hills behind Mangahao were successful in obtaining ten deer in two days. This result is very good, as deer have not been nlentiful in this area for some time. The party intends spending a few days at New Year in the same area. 1 " -
