His run will mean that he will be greatly favoured in the Tattersall's Cup but it will not be known until almost the last minute whetlier ho can start. The race proved a great ducl between Manowar and Kotten Itow, with Manowar winning the decision in the last stride. Native Son won the Carrington Stakes easily after moving steadily through the field to a good position. Carrying 11.8 in the Pace Welter, the New Zealander Inunediate made most of tlio running liut weiglit told against him in the straight and he finished fourth.
