MISSION MIGHT BE HASTINGS MEETING

WELLINGTON, This Day.--There are a number of horses with engagements at two meetings on New Year's Day, but the most puzzling to the followers of the Dink gelding, Dileas, is the fact •that he has been accepted for in ■the ma'ih flat event at thTee -meetings,* viz,, Hawke's- Bay, !,run at -Hastings; v Marton and Wairarapa at Tauherenikau. * *- The horse is well forward for the holiday raciing and , should collect some of . the stake money. ofEefing. . Double Engagements There are several double acceptors at separate meetings on New Year's Day. These" include Glen Urquhart at Hastings and Wairarapa, Veine d'Or and Mesalliance at Marton and Wairarape. In Open Company By his success at Kurow Air Lord has graduated into open company, but will be eligible to run out his hack nomination at Waikouaiti meeting on New Year's Day. The well bred Nizami gelding Cipher resumed racing at Kurow, where he was heavily backed on the win machine. Cipher ran a solid race for fourth and benefited by the ra3ce. He should hold good prospeets at Waikouaiti on Wednesday.
