ROUGH SEAS IN STRAITS
Received Mondav, 12,25 a.m. SYDNEY, Dec, 29, Tlio yachts competing in the Syduey Hobart race are now experiencing squally conditions with a rough sea in Bass Strait. The New Zealand eutraut riex- reported by radio late this after noon that slic vvas riding out the strirm under reduced sail 50 miles nortlieasl of Flinders Island. The. R.A.A.F Liberator which searched Bass Strait reported at 5.15 p.m. that the sea was rough and visibility fhree miles, There was a westerly wind of 47 knots.
