Person'al Mr. and Mrs. Neil Synnott, of the Wairarapa, are at present on holiday in Otaki. I Mr. Stan Mitchell and Miss Irene June Street were married at All Saints' Church on Saturday, when a large number of friends.and relatives witnessed * the ceremony, performed by Canon Frv. A wedding of local interest was recently solemnised, when two wellknown and highlv respected residents — Mr. Rowland Hughes and Mrs. Street, were married. The couple have the best wishes of their many friends. The death occurred at Waikanae on Thursday of Mr. "Bert" Pink, aged 35 vears. Prior to settling at Waikanae the deceaaed lived at Ohau, while he resided in Carterton* for many years, being the son of a well-known family. Mr. Fred Pink, formerly of Levin, is a brother. Deceased leaves a widow to mourn her loss. Weekly Sports There will be no athletic sports on Wednesday next, but the usual weekly meeting will be held on the following Wednesday. Window Broken A plate glass window in Mr. J. Sievers' business premises was broken on Friday night, probably as a result of lads skyiarking in the vicinity. A Windfall A v/indfall has fallen to the lot of a quartette of whom one resides in this district, in the way of a £10,000 prize in an overseas consultation. Pamir Passes Otaki On Monday last the Pamir, on its way from Lyttelton „to Sydney, passed within a short distance of the Otaki Beach. She had full sail in the breeze and presented an attractive sight. Money Stolen . On Friday night or early Saturday morning the sum of £19 was stolen from" a camper at Tasman Beach, together with a suitcase containing articles valued at about £87. The suitcase has been recovered, but not all the contents. Musical Selcctions The Otaki Brass Band rendered a choice programme of music at Tasman Beach -on- Friday night, which was grqatly appreciated. The band has made rapi'd strides and the programmes • given at various times have been fully appreciated. Dance at Raihvay The dance held at thc Otaki Railway on Thursday night was largely attended, and a most enjoyable time spent by all. The arrangements were in very capable hands. Roy Lester's orchestra supplied spirited music and Mr. Rule was an efficient M.C., while the promoters are to be congratulated on the efficient way they carried out their duties.
