CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PARTY
CHEERY GATHERING BY W.I. MEMBERS "T* On Thursday last some fifty school children and manyf adults took 'part in the children's 'Christmas party arranged by members of the Shannon Women's Institute. In the middle of the gaiety, Father Christmas made his majestic "entry and distributed presents from the generously festooned Christmas tree, which was decorated in traditional manner. An impromptu programme proved both humoxous and entertaining, there being no dearth of talent. Those who entertained were Joan Radford (recitation), Nancy Lang (song), Valerie Walker, Russell Gyde, Biiiie Stratford, Margaret Walker arid Bruce Stern (recitations), Margaret Sinclair (songs, one with a chorus sung by six children), Shirley Thomson (pianoforte solo), Coralie Rees (a Christmas carol) and Nancy Lang (step dance).
