REHABILITATION OF GREEK FARMING
AUCKLAND, Dec. 27. Outside the cities in real Greece, as represented by its villages, life was still very difficult, said Ylr. J. A. Horne, deputy leader of the partv of New Zealand relief workers who left for service with Corso in Greece at the end of last year, when hc returned to New Zealand by Tasman flying boat todav. The children would have a liard time when the food supiilies of Unrra, which, was due' to ceas'e work at the end of this year, were discontinued, but , against that must be set the rising tide of primary production in Greece wliich was seen in the rehabilitation of mosr of the devastated areas, and which liad resultcd in the last wlieat crop being as large as tliose harvested before the war. , Mr. Horne was accompanied 011 his return by Miss I. M. YfcLean, of North Auckland, who was nurse with the partv, aiul 'Miss Louise Logan, transport oflicer of the partv. Tliev arrived at Greece 011 March 4 and the three membors who have just returned left on October 17 after speuding the spring and summer there.
