Personal Mrs. Merwood and her son, Lindsay, are at present on holiday in Masterton. Mr. and Mrs. H. Byiggs leave for Christchurch on the 10th of next month to take part in a family reunion, a sister of Mr. Briggs having recently returned from England after an absence of 29 years. The death occurred at his residence, Weraroa, of Arthur Louis, husband of Mary Louisa Williams and father of Roy, Louis, Mrs. Hewitt, Mrs. Jacobs, and Margaret, of Levin, Mrs. Cromie, Nepier, Mrs. Hudson, Auckland, and Mrs. Howard, Otaki.

A pretty wedding was solemnised at the Rangiatea by the Rev. Paora Temuera on Saturday, when Miss Anihaera Rewiti was married to Mr. Harvey Rauhihi. Miss Daphne Ropata and Miss Mariama Hawea were bridesmaids and Mr. Rangi Hawea best man. The ceremony was witnessed by a number of in-. terested persons, after which a reception was held. Bowling The Otaki Railway Bowling Club will hold a Barnett pairs tournament on New Year's day, commencing at 1.30 p.m. The green is in very fine order and enjoyable games should result. Improvements at Railway For some time past carpenters and others have been busy effecting improvements to the various shops at Otaki Railway, brought about by street widening. Some of the shops have been completed and are a credit to the builders and others concernQd. Further improvements are to be effected. Sports at Paraparaumu The Paraparaumu Sports Club, which for many years held very successful sports meetings, is again to the fore and on New Year's Day will hold a monster meeting. There will be a large number of events and as entries are numerous, sport should be entertaining, especially as many leadirig athletes will take part.
