WELLINGTON, Dec. 27. The importance of the dissemination and publication of authentic news as a ineans of promoting understanding be tween nations was emphasised by the Minister of Finance, llon. W. Xash, to day. "As a Minister of the Crown and with some knowledge of the importance of easy access to interxiational news, I welcome any sound proposal for tlu extension of publicity, " said tln Minister. " International news — authentic and publislied — is the great est step toward the avoidanee of thosi inisunderstandings or lack of under standing which lead to a conflict be tween nations. The British peoph liave made a worthwhile contributioii to the progress of the world and have a great sliare in the responsj bil ity foi the future. I hope the expansion oi news distribution will be maintained and new partners will contribute to the spreadings' of news from al countries to the English speaking people and also the spreai] of' news lo all countries. However suiall ou: eountry may be, I believe we also hav a contribution to make to world news and its distribution," eontinued Mr Nash. "I believe we will make that contribution. We also have a majoi responsibility to spread the news and publish the news. I hope we will live up to our responsibility."
