HARRIS CREEK HUT OPENED

Mr. Doug James, of Kingston Road, spent a very pleasant weekend recently, when on the occasion of the official opening of the hewly erected Harris Creek hut, he accompanied 14 members of the Manawatu Tramoing Club to Harris Creek, on the upper Mangahao River. On the Sunday morning seven members of the party climbed West Peak, 4385ft., a" high point in the Tararua Ranere. They arrived back in the afternoon in time for the official opening of the hut by Mr. T. H. Aldridge, president of the Manawatu Tramping Club.
