PUPILS ENTERTAIN STAFF
MORNING TEA FUNCTION Prior to the jend of the year at the Otaki State School, pupils of Form 2 entertained the members of the teaching staff and headmaster (Mr. J. E. James) at morning tea, which had been daintily set out in one of the rooms. Master Colin Jensen was chairman and welcomed Ihe guests. Miss P. Merwood, after a pleasing speech, presented Mr. W. H. Townrow with a parting gift. Mr. Townrow replied and thanked the pupils for their kind thought. He wished them well in their future study. Each teacher was presented witn a shoulder spray or button-hole, and Mr. James thanked the children for their invitation and wished them success in their study at high school. He urged them to put every effort into making the world a better place in which to live. The infant mistress, Miss M. L. Lochore, who was given an ovation when she rose to speak, said that many of the pupils who would be leaving this year had begun school with her, and it had been pleasing to her to see the splendid initiative they had shown in preparing the function. Miss Helen Davies thanked the headmaster for his help to the class, and extended the season's greetings to the teachers.
