CARD EVENING

The final Christmas party of bridge and 500 for the Otaki scouts' funds was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Synnott, Waerenga toad, when a most enjoyable and olly evening was spent. The card rooms were beautifully decorated with sweet peas and carnations, which evoked much admiration from those present. A delicious supper by the ladies' committee was on a style pertaining to the festive season, and was done full justice to by players. High bidding was the order of the evening, the prizes falling to Mrs. Boyd ebridge) and Mrs. Nairn and Mr. Jones (500). The consolation bouquets went to Mrs. McGilligan and Mr. Evans, and the lucky chairs to Messrs. Moss and Mackey. A vote of thanks was accorded the host and hostess for the use of their home for so many parties. It was unanimously decided to hold the scout parties again in 1947, and the date of the next one will be arranged early in the year. Mr. and Mrs. Synnott will again lend their home for these popular events.
