PAHlAf\JA MARCHING TEAM TO TAKE PART "Judd's" marching team fr'om Pahiatua Will arriv'e to Levin at 5 p.m. tomorrow to take part in the 1 eomhined gala evening under the auspices of the Horowhenua Marfching Association. The team will be met at the Levto POst Office and a , short welcome will be extended to ' the visitors-, after Which they will be the guests of members of aie LeVi-n teams at tea. The evening's entertainment w;Jl commenc'e on the Levin Park Domain at 6.30., with a march round the oval by Judd's, K.B.H. and Caledonian teams, headed by the Horowhenua Highland Pipe Band. This will be folloWed by a marching display by Judd's team to music supplied by the Levin Mu-nicipal Band. Immediately after the National dancing competition will commence and 'proceed continu- . eusly, except during the marching display s. Athletic and cycling events under the control of the Levin C.A.A. and C.C. will also commence simultaneously with the National dancing, and will continiie except during the marching displays by the bands and girls' teams. In.all -seveh'teen athletic and cycling eVents are to be decided, and this includes a ladies' and men's high jump, as well as a three-mile senior cycle and an 880 yards open evenfc for men. Trophies will be presented to the winhers of the National dancing events, as well as to the lady and gentlemen kthietes and cyclists who gain most points in their respective classes during the evening's performance. Opportunity will also be taken to present trophies to the members of the Caledonian marching team, who were successful in gaining the most points in the street march last Saturday evening. The whole programme will be interspersed with displays by the girls' teams, both individually and combined, and prior to the rendering of the National Anthem by the Levin Municipal Band, two popular carols will be played, and the public are eordially invited to accompany the band by joining in and singing these numbers. Admission to the grounds ls free but a collection will be taken up to help defray the expenses.
