BACONER PRICES EASIER

LEVIN STOCK MARKET

Prices for baconers at the Levin weekly stock sale yesterday eased considerably and dropped from I5s co £1 per head. Good yarding? came fprward in all classes, and prime quality lots brought rates on i par with last week's high values. The sheep entry was again good, although fat hoggets and fat lamhs were in short supply. Fat cattle met keen competition and prices were maintained. The following is i range of the prices realised: — Sheep: Prime woolly wethers, £2 :o. £2 5s 4d; light woolly ewes, 27s lOd to 29s ld; prime shorn wethers, 32s lOd to 33s lOd; medium, 31s 4cl to 32s ld; light, 29s lOd to 31s ld; prime shorn ewes, 22s 4cl to 24s. id; medium, 20s 4d to 21s 7d; light, down to 18s; prime woolly hoggets, 35s 4d to 37s lOd; prime shorn hoggets, 30s 4d; medium, 27s lOd to ^8s lOd; prime fat lambs, 32s lOd; medium, 27s 7d to 29s ld; light; 25s 4d to 26s 7d; store shorn w.f. wether hoggets, 25s ld to 28s 3d; j shorn w.f. ewe hoggets, 24s to 27s | 3d ; shorn ewes with lambs at f oof, 1 14s all counted; cull m.s. w.f. shorn j noggets, 18s.
