WELLINGTON, Dec. 17! Tlie Parl iameutary Labour Party met today wlien 4.1 members were present. The only mernber abseut was the Aliuister of Defence (Hon. F. Jones) who is attehding a eonference of the fcjouth Paeifie Air Transport Council in Canberra. The followiii'g new members reeeived a cordial welcome: Alessrs AlacDonald (Ponsonby), Hkinner (Tamaki), Finlay (North Shore), Kearins (Waimarino), Aloohan (Petone), AleLagan (Biecafton) and Hudson (Aiornington ). Air. Ormond Wilson reeeived a special welcome ou his return to the ranks of the Labour Party in Parliament. Itcgret was expressed by all present at the absenco of fi\c members \yt> failed to secure re-eleetion, Alessrs' F. W. Wehramm, J. Thorn, E. P. Meaehen, G. ALorgan Williams aud W. Denham. A resolution expressing the sen.se oi great loss sustained by the party, of high appreeiatiou of past able and'most valuable services given to the cause ot Labour by all fire of them, and the sineere wisli and belief tliat tliey would again be returned at the first opportunity was passed. A vote of sympathy with thc widon and other relatives of the • lato Mr. Peter Carr, who sueceeded Air. fSavage in the representation of Auckland \\est, was carried, members standing for a brief period. High appreeiatiou of Air. Carr's line upright charactcr. his loyalty and devotion to the cause of Labour and his faithfuiness in the curryiug out of his Parliameutary duties was geuerally voiced. Alessrs E. Cullen (Hastings) and 1. Hackett (Grey Lynu) wero elected new members of Cabinet. As at present constituted Cabinet is: The Prime Minister Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, iious. W. xNash

D. G. Wullivan, H. G. II. Alason, ]{, Hemple, W. Parry, F. Jones, A. H. Nordmeyer, J. O'Brien, F. Skinner, A. McLagan, E. T. Tirikateno, E. Cullen and F. Hackett. The question of leadership of the Upper House and that of the partv's nominee for the position of 8peaker was postponed uutil at later date.
