Hughes, narrowly wou the lirst three-year-old handicap at Cautcrbury on Saturday wheu a photo liuish was called to separate the lirst three horses. Hiraji was fourth at thq halfmile, seeond into the straight and went over the line togetlier with Dutcliman and Star Vite. After the photo was called for bookmakers were still oiferLng odds against Hiraji but the photo showed his grcy nose in front. Result: rliraji, 9.3 (Mullane) 1; Dutcliman, 8.5 (Briseoe) 2; Star Yite, 8.2 (Thompson) 3. Fifteen started. Half a liead; lialf a length. Time 1.30 i.
