YEAR'S FINAL MEETING The final meeting of the year of the League of Mothers was held recently, when Mrs. Nichol presided over a very good attendance. A welcome was extended to all present, especially Mrs. Barsauti, president of the Palmerston North League, and four of her members. A vote of sympathy was passed with the family of the late Mrs. J. S. Wilson, a foundation member and staunch and loyal supporter of the league. The president mentioned that the league would open again for 1947 on March 12, when arrangements had been made to conduct a creche, functioning under the supervision of two reliable and capable women.

Mrs. Bennett, of Tatum Park, Manakau, gave a most interesting address on Christmas in England compared with that in New Zealand. Mrs. Moffatt, of Palmerston 3d . contnbuted much appreciated vocal items, for which they were tlianked by Mrs. C. Bartholcmew and presented with a posy of flowers. Mrs. Nichol extended to all present greetings and best wishes for the festive season, and Mrs. Barsauti conveyed greetings from the Palmerston North branch. A most enjoyable afternoon concluded with all joining in the singing oi three well -known Christmas carols.
