MARKET REPORT

Messrs. Townsend and Paul, Ltd.,. fruit and produce merchants, Wellington, report that increasing quantities of stone fruits are now becoming available daily, all varieties meeting with extremely keen enquiry, particularly dessert plums, apricots, cherries arid peaches. Flower auctions have also been well attended, values, hcwever, being slightly easier on those obtaining last period. Supplies of vegetables have been extremely short, particularly new potatoes and onions, ceiling prices for which have been readily obtainable. Beetroot has also been in demand, while there has been a shortage of all green varieties. Poultry auctions have also been well attended, and as is seasonal larger yardings have beep ofi'ering. Prime birds have been sought at improved rates.
