MOROCCO IS GOOD
The mosfc iinpressive winner at tlie Woodville meeting was the tliree'-year-old Alorocco, trained at Mangateretere by Mr. A. Meikle, who races him in partuership with'Mr. J. Jerrat, of Auckland. Alorocco had not raced since running second in the Hawke's Bay Guineas, -but he was produeed in great heart on Saturday, and the Kiritaki llack Handicap was little more thaii an excrcise gallop for him. It was a nice opencr for the A.R.C. Queen'a Plate. A lialf-brothef to ' Arabian Niglit, Arabic and a string of useful performers bred from the Hunting Song mare Arab Song, Moroceo was a bargain at the 1945 saies, the Theio youngster goiug for 120 guineas. Unplaced at his first start, he has not been out of the money since, with six starts for fdur wins, a second and a third. Having now won £695 in stakes, Alorocco will have to do his racing in open ranks when his haek nominations • run out at Auckland. However, his fonn to date suggests that he will have no trouble in making the grade in goodelass sprint company, and his already attractive rceord sliould be enhanced by the holiday racing.
