Entriea in the Empire Nold Oup, which will- carry £34,000 in stake mon'ejq are expeeted to include horses from the United States, England, France, South . America and South Africa-. The race will be at weightrfor-age over 13 furlongs, and will be for three-year-olds and over. Mr. Peter- Biddle, who owns and trhins Shannon, Australian champion miler, is regarded as likaly to attend the Empire Cup Meeting. He has been in ill-health for some months, and may be glad to, take the opportunity of a sea voyage. Whether he will dblinitely take Shannon to compete in the Cup is not yet decided, but there is a distinet possibility. ' If Shannon does go to America, the jockey Darby Munro will also make the trip. Munro has been keen to ride abroad, espeeially in America, for some time, and he is a close friend of Biddle.
