lieeeived ^Ionda^y, 10.1 i) p.m. NEW YORK, Dec. 9. United Nations General Assemblv, sitting in plenary session, censured the Houth African Government for discrimination against Indian citizens. It adopt'ed by 32 votes to 15 a compromise resolution calling on India and Houtli Africa to settle their differences and report to tlie Assemblv next year. The resolution recognised India"s contention regarding the treatment or I ndians in Houth Africa, adding that because of that treatment, friendly relations between two member states had been impaired and were likely to be further impaired unless a satis fftctorv settlement was reaclied. This was adopted after the Assemblv reject ed a Houth African amendment de manding tliat the Iiulian-Houth African issue be sent to the International Court of Justice for an advisory opinion. Eield-.M'arshal Hmuts, who had movod this amendment, left tlie Assemblv to return to ■ Houth Africa by air before the Assemblv 's linal deeision was roached. Earlier tlie trusteeship commiltee adopted an Indian resolution prnhibit ing Houth Africa from anuexing Houth west Africa aml calling for the establishment of a uiwted trusteeship over ihe area. This reversed ihe sub ••ouimittee 's vole whieh lia.d aeeepted a Danish-Ameriean resolution banning ihe annexation of Houlhwest Africa now, but leaving the question open foi iater consideral ion.
