WELLINGTON, Dee. 9. After the wateri'ront had been idlc sim-e 5 o'cloek on Friday night, work began agaiu ;it S o'cloek this morning. The waterside workers are eontinuing to work the iO-hoiu' week, and there has been 110 chaiige in the general situatioh. The shortage of labour for ships was again fell lodav. About 11 gangs were retpiired, mostly by coastal vOssels, although the Rangitiki was restrieted in its working by the shortage of three gangs. The Tamahiue was oae gang sliort, the Wairau was working but was short of labour, tlie Nikau was unable to work, and Ihe Inaha and Koutunui were short of gangs. Tlu; New Zealand Waterside employ ers ' Association, the Waterside Work ers' I'nion, aml tlie Wateri'ront Indus try Commission all stated today that there were no new developments and no more statements at preseut.
