ENGLISH THOROUGHBRED SALES.
Received Sunday, 7.15 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 8. A total of 865,740 guineas for the Newmarket December saies ended yestefday makes a total paid in 1940 for thoroughbreds more than £2,000,000, says the Daily Telegraph. The best year before the war was 1938 when the saies brouglit £1,000,000.
