JOCKEYS STRIKE AT PERTH
Received Sunday, 7.15 p.m. PERTH, Dec. 8. Perth racegoers at the Western Austfalian Turf Club's meetiug on Saturday supported a joekeys'. strikc which resulted in the abandonment of the meetiug. The joekeys refused to ridc unless an ambulance followed the races. The announcexnent of the abandonment was made nearly an hour after the first race was timed to Start. The crowd jeered and booed the announcement and the members of the W.A.T.C. were counted out twice and three cheers were given for the joekeys. The stewards offcred to allow an ambulance
irtstn to ride in a steward's eaT which followed the races, but said that an am*bulance would cut up the track.
