Whether the. watersiders will pursue more direct steps to press their claims for a guaranteod daily wage, increased wages, improvement of ameniti'es and 110 Saturday morning calls. has not yet been considered by the national executive of 'the Watersiders' Fnion, ac■mrding to tlie national president, Air. II. Barnes. who returned from YYellington yesterdav. lle said the union 's immediafe attitude was "wait and see" beeause it considered the next movo should come from tlie omployers. Mr. Barnes added that if tlie eniplovers wero not prepared to make a move tlie union would iiiaintain its attitude ot refusing overtime and of working the tn-hour vvocjk from Monday to Fridav The union had not discussed the Primc Minister's statenient and Mr. Barne.-i •i.aid lio had no cominent to nmke.
