OBITUARY
MR. F. DESMOND The death occurred in Wellington of Mr. F. Desmond, manager of the British Traders' Insurance Company, Ltd.,. and the TJnion, Insurance Society of Canton Ltd., since 1930, and a well-known figure in golf, swimming and boxing circles. He was 47 years of age. . Mr. Desmond was a former Wellington and New Zealand lightweight boxing champion and was a member of the. New Zealand team which went to Australia about 25 years ago." He.was a member of the Wellington'' Boxing Association executive at tlie time of his death. He was a member of the Shandon Golf Club and the Central Club. Mr. Desmond was a member of the Otaki and Levin Fire Boards. Mr. Desmond is survived by hjs mother, a sister, Miss M. Desmond and a brother, Mr. Gavin Desmond, of Wellington. Another sister, Mrs. Holland, lives at Richmond, Nelson. • .
