REPAYMENT OF LOAN
WKLI.IXCiTOX, Dec. 5. The Minister of Finance draws attent ion to a notice appearing in this week's Gazette iiitiinating that a loan of a[)proxiiuately £1,100, 000 witli interest at 3 per eent niaturing on Bepember 11, 1948, is to be repaid on Alarcii 11 iH'.xt. "This decisiou, ' ' said .Mr. X'ash, ''has been niade in ternis of tlie option reserved wlien the Joan was issued in 1!)41, whereby the (fovernment has the right to rejiay the loan at any time on or aftei ISeptember 11, 1940, on g'iving three inontlis' notice in the Xew Zealand Gazette. The loan issued in 1941 was in conversion of three loans, portion of wliich had been sul>jeet of conversion on a previous occas ion. It will tlius be seen tha't the secur ities being repaid represent borrowings extending over a lnng period of years. ' '
