BOWLING NOTES

Last weekend local bowlers were i favoured with fine weather and | there was a good gathering of , members on the greens, both on Saturday and Sunday. The greens 'were in perfect conditiqn and were i the fastest that they have been this j season. Next Saturday Triangular Shield matches will be played and the fol- | lowing teams will represent the Shannon Ciub: — To play away: 'Messrs. R. Hook, F. Edmonds, H. . Karena, F. Peni; and Messrs. R. ;Mills, E. T. Wilson, V. J. Bateman i and C. M. Cronfyuest. To play at ! Shannon: Messrs. L. Hook, H. Noriris, A. F. Birss and R. Collins; and Messrs. E. Thorne, V. Pope, T. Bell and F. Picard. The local club will hold its first rinks tournament on Sunday next. With the greens in their I present condition, a most successI ful day is assured. Invitations have ibeen sent to various clubs in the district and rinks will be visiting ifrom Levin, Otaki, Foxton and I Palmerston North.
