MASTEKT'ON, Dec. 3. A senteuce of a moutli's gaol imposed yesterday on James Millor and a line of ji7 10s inilicted on Nelson Sullivau, on a cliargc of having assaulted J. A. Kiddell, of Hastings, on yaturday, were quashed iu the Magistrate's Courl today and thc cliarges dismissed. Iustead David J. Btcvens and Peter J. Greenlces, of Masterton, were convicted and each iiucd £5, Stevens to pay £3 ,10s costs, in coanection with the assault on ffiddell. The policc, in evidence, staled that since Miller and Sullivau liad been convicted yesterday, Stevens and Greealecs came forward voluntarily and confessed to the assault on Riddell.
