W LLLIXOTOX, JTee. Z. Tlie linal act of the Wellington (Jitizons ' Cathedral Appeal Committee was performed today when the Mayor (Mr. W. Appleton) as committee chairman handed a cheque for £4743 (is 4d to Archdeacon E. J. Rich, representing the Church of England authorities. Mr. Appleton said this payment meant that the objective of £50,000 which was i aimed at by the joint committee 's appeal had been achievod. .Surns were still coining to hand and he knew several important bequests had been arranged. The Minister of Finance (Hon. W. Nash), who was present, was asked by Sir Charles X'orwood if the Government would fnrnish on parchment the names of all who had given their lives for their countrv so that their names could be permanently preserved in the cathedral. Mr. X'ash roplied that he thought there would be no diliiculty in obtaining such names back to the Boer W^r. "In no more than four or five years from now, thanks to a generous publie, the walls of the cathedral will rise to grace our capital with dignitv and beauty, " said the campaign director, Mr. K. W. Kilpatrick.
