MERRY ROBIN AND BATTLE SURVEY WIN AT WOODVILLE
Keen Racing and Close Finishes
The Woodville District Jockey Club's summer meeting was opened on Saturday in fine, though fireezy weather and the racing was remarkable for the close finishes. Only in two races was the winning margin as much as half a length. In five other races the margin was a short neck or neck, and in the others it was a head and half a head. The course was in splendid order and there was a good attendance, the totalisator investments amounting to £10,541 10s, compared with £27,226 10s iast year.
