WELLINGTON, Nov. 28. The Alotor Spirit Retail Hours Regu lations, 15)4(5, which are ga/.etted to niglit, and which come into force on December 1, 194(5, are intended to replace the Oil Fuel Retail Ilours Emergency Regulations of 1942. The new reguiaiions allow taxis and other publie passenger transport servic.es, arnl launches to obtain motor spirit at any timo. . There is provisiou of a 59 hour week for the normal purchasing of motor spiiit — between 7.30 a.m. and 0 p.m. on four days, 7.30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the late night, uuul 7.30 p.m. until iioon on the half-holiday, with the following exceptions: Station to be elosed all day on Sundays, Ohristmas Day, Good Eridav and Anzac Day, and 011 .other holidays to be open between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. I11 addition 011 Christmas Eve and on the Thursday before Good Friday, motor spirit may be pureliased iip to 1.1 o'clock at night. One seetion of tlie regulations provides for the estabhshment by agreement be tween the Alotor Cnions and resellbrs for emergency statioxis, for the sale of motor spirit that is urgently required outside normal hours and these slations may be eitlier special stations estiib-( lislied for the purpose of existing stations to act as emergency stations on a roster basis. These emergency stations where arrailged for, will be confined to comljined distriets, eities, boroughs and town distriets. The regulations also provide that where no emergency station is arranged motor spirit that is urgently required may be purcliased from any reseller in thc distriet concerned. Urgent supplies of motor spirit can be obtained, however, only by signing a register. Provision is also mttde that where emergency stations are arranged for, all otlier premises for the sale of motor spirit 111 those loealities are to exhibit av conspicuous notice showing the names and address of the particular emergency stations for tlie locality, togetlier with a plan showing tlie location of sucli stations.
