OTAKI MAORI RACING CLUB j The appointments for the race i meeting to be held by the Otaki j Maori Racing • Club on Saturday, 1 Deceipber 14, are well up-to-date, and besides general improvements ; to the course by the caretaker, Mr. Albert Mita, other improvements are being eflected aird patrons will be well catered for. The meeting* should be the means ' of attracting large crowds from ! various directions, and provided the weather is fine it is estimated tliat j the attendance will approach a ! record. I Stake money has been increased • and the Raukawa Handicap is now worth no less than £1000, £200 to go | to the second horse and £100 to the | third. This race should be the means of attracting leading horses. The Highweight, Waitohu Hack and I the Otaki Hack ' are each worth J £310, while the Huia Handicap is . valued at £600 and the -Te Horo ; Hack £400. It will thus be seen that \ stakes have been considerably increased.
