200,000-DOLLAR CLAIM
atomic research damage Received Tuesday, 8.25 p.m. NEW YORK, Nov. 25. Miss Dorothy Burns, -aged 30, has filed an action in the Federal Court for 200,000 dollars damages arising from the secret atomic research' in which she claimed she participated while employed at the Westinghouse Electric Corporation's Bloomfield plant. The suit is helieved to he the first of its type in the United States. The statement of claim says Miss Burns has been ' 'injuriousl'y invaded and affected" hy uranium and similar materials used in nuclear research. She claims 100,000 dollars damages for injuries and ailments and 100,000 dollars more on the grounds that westi'ngfiouse failed to provide reaSona'bly effective deviees, means and methods to prevent such injuries.
