AMERICA OBJECTS TO EMPIRE PRODUCE CONTRACTS

Received Tuesday, 9.50 p.m. WASHINGTON, Ncv. 26. Mr. Bruce, chairman of the Food and Agriculture Organisation Freparatory Commission, has released a statement suhmitted hy the United States strongly criticising the British policy of making long-term contracts with Canada, New Zealand and Argentina. The statement said the United States opposed long-term contracts outside the framework ofi approved international commodity agreements and particularly disliked long-term hilateral contracts as heing discriminatory. The United States urged the use of multilateral international commodity agreements, but insisted that they should be included in the framework of the International Trade Organisation. The United States also warned that the ",time may not he far distant when the world will he wrestling with unmarketable surpluses".
