Strenuous Campaign Ends
FINAL MEETINGS TONIGHT , This evening the candidates for Parliamentary 'honours will deliver thpir final addresses throughout New Zealand, thus bringing a s'trenuous campaign . to a close. Tomorrow the elections will be held and unprecedented interest is being taken in them. In the Otaki electorate the contest is a clear-cut one between Mr. J. J. Maher (National) and Mr. James Thorn (Labour) . Polling places in "The Chronicle's" circulation district are as follows: — Levin, Courthouse (principal) and Public School; Weraroa, Boys' Training Centre and Kimberley Hall; Ohau, Public School; Manakau, Public School; Manakau, Public School; Otaki, All Saints' Hall; Otaki Beach, Church hall; Otaki Railway, Railway Hall; Te Horo, Public School; Reikorangi, Public School; Waikanae, Public School; Waikanae Beach, Tennis Pavilion Hall; Paraparaumu, Public School; Paraparaumu Beach, Seaside Theatre; Raumati Beach, Raumati "Stores, Ltd. ; Raumati South, Church hall; and Paekakariki, St. Peter's Hall. There are only two candidates in the Manawatu electorate also, Messrs. P. N. Holloway (Labour) and M. H. Oram (National) . Polling booths in "The Chronicle's" circulation area are as follows,: — Ihakara, Public Hall; Koputaroa, Public School; Levin, Mr. G. F. Milnes' garage, The Avenue; Makerua, Public School, Mangaore, Public Works Social Hall; Opiki, Public School; Poroutawhao, Public School; Shannon, Public School; Tokomaru, Public School; and Waitarere Beach, St. Andrew's Hall.
