CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 24; The Canterbury Jockev Club opened its New Zealand Cup meeting at Riccarton on Saturday in perfect weather and before a large attendance. Thc course was in great order. . Backers were astray in their scleetions, double figure dividends prevailing in most events. Catteriek Bridge, winner of the New Zealand Cup, paid more than a century and two-thirds, while Palomino paid more than threequarters of a century.
