Another transport dispute threatens in Yictoria as the result of the refusal of the Arbitratioii 'Court to grant ihe claim of the Australian Federated Ufion of Locqntotlve Engineers for pavinent of time and a lialf for Satur day work. Tlie acting Ghief Judge, Mr. Justiee Drake Brockinau, oyorruled an agreement betweon employors aml employees to ]iav higher wages. He held that tlie agreement betweon Ihe Yietoriun Railway C-ommissioners and Fnions for tlie payment of tinic and a half for Saturday work was outside the law. The industry' was a seven-day •industrv, he said, and tlie grant ing of the requOst would be a disturbance of tlie balance of awards which had been made.
