Iteccived l-'ridav, 7.U p.m. LONDON, Nov. 22. Dr. F. G. Soper, of Dunedin, who has liecn visit ing woollen mills timi rescarch centres in Hritain timi I'niteil States on behalf of the New Zealand Woollen Mills Kcsearch Association, is impress ed with the staudard of research work in both countries. 11 e expressed the opinion that the work will assist new developiuent and mahitahi the present high quality of wool fabrics. The problems of shrinkage and inoth attack were already largely overeome and considerable progress had been nuule in the study of special processes designed to give u sol'ter and belter linish to wool clotlis. Dr. Soper commented upon the almndant resettrch facilities and etptipment in L'nited States and upon the value of tlie research being uiidertaken by a Cniversity graduate under n system of special grants from the Government and industry. He found American importers anxious to know wlien they will be able to buy New Zeulaml tnivelling rugs again. Dr. Soper said hc found - that, as, a; New Zealander, he had tlie best possible' passport in Britain and praised tlie determined clieerful spirit in which tlie British people were meeting tlieir ditiiculties.
