WELLINGTON, Nov. 20. The statenient by Mr. A. ,T. AIcDonald, assistant secretarv of the New Zealand Labour Party, that individual members of the National Party had I sent political propaganda to members j of the J Force, contrarv to an agreement reached at a conference of all i parties, was replied to today by head- | quarters of the National Party. I Major T. G. Wilkes, geueral secretarv of the National Party, who attended the conference roferred to by Mr. McDonald, is travelling with the Lea'der of the Opposition, Mr. S. G. Ilolland, and it was not possible to contact him by telephone today. Tt was denied at headquarters of the National Party that tliere had been anv breacli of faith, the purpose of theconference having been to discuss facilities to be provided by the Government for the forwarding of party material through official channels. The agreement reached at the conference to utilise the pages of the J Force Timcsfor that purpose did not, it was stated, preclude individual caudidat.es from using the mails as some of them harT done, to address personal letters to soldiers from their electorates.
