NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. 10. Lively interludes marked an address given by the Prime Minister, Hon. P. Fraser in the Hawera Opera House tonight. He received a rousing receptioa in whieh a minoritv of dissenting voices eould be heard. A motion of eonfidenee in Mr. Fraser but of lack of eonfidenee in the Pahou r Government was moved at the eonelusion of his address but a vote of eonfidenee in the Government, moved as an amendment to the motion, was earried with fairlv livelv opposition. A show of hands was sul)sef|uexitly ealled for by Mr. Fraser to indieatc support for Labour and was eomplied witli by the majority of the audienee. about 30 per eent. indicating their opposition. In the first part of his address Mr. Fraser eneountered a number of interjections whieh he dealt with eapably to the amusement of the audienee and which resulfed in noisy eross eke'hanges of remarks among the audienee. The latter part of the address whieh followed the lines of Ihose delivered elsewhere, was listened to with t'ew interruptlons.
