PRICES FIRM AT LEVIN PIG VALUES RISE SLIGttTtY Fat sheep, fat cattle and pigs were yarded in large numbers at the Levin weekly stock sale yesterday, and values were fully on a par v;ith recent saies, with pigs shoWing a slight increase. The majority of the sheep were shorn, and were more keenly soughl after thair thd woolly sheep. A large entry of fat lambs was penned, heavy lambs making to 34s ld. These were the heaviest lambs that have been penned this year. Good woolly hoggets made to 38s 7d. A large entry of runners in the fat cattle section made good values, while fat cows were in an over supply, but fully maintained their values. Tiqe few ox penned were light, but in good condition, selling up to £15 12s 6d. The fair entry of store catle penned sold in adyance of the vendors' expectations in spite of the adverse weather conditions, There was an extra large yarding of pigs and one of the year's most brisk saies was experienced. The top price for baconers was £6 14s, while the pens of good condition porkers sold under £4 10s.
