The annual eouference of tlie New Zealand Owuers', Trainers' and Breeders' Association is to be held in Christchureh uext week and a remit is to be eonsidered urging that in all cases horses be sent to the post no earlier than 12 minutes before the closing of the totalisator. At a meeting of the Manawatu Association it was unanimously decided to support the remit. Lt is stated that an instruction has been sent to all elubs by tlie N.Z. Raeing Conference to adhere to the principlc of not sending the horses out before the 12 minutes. Ne\V Zealand is the only country in'the world where the horses are compelled to spend such a long time on the traek prior to the start of a rac^ ^
