REDUCED AIR TRAVEL
Received Sundav, 7 p.m. NEW YORK, Nov. 1(5. Trans-Atlantic air travel is sharply reduccd as the result of peacetime steamship compelition. Pan-American Airways has sent dismissal notices to 20 per cent. of its 5000 employees of the Atlantic division. Offieials of other eompanies admit a decline in Atlantic bookings but have not vet decided on retrenclnnent. An airline official pointed out that when the Queen Elizabeth sailed this week with 2253 passengers for Southhampton, she carried the equivaleut of 5(5 flights of C'onstellation aircraft.
