A resolntion passed bv the Xational Council of the New Zeaiand Federation of Lahour urging support for the Gqvernment was worded as follows: — "After having analysed the programmes and policies of the New Zea land Labonr Partv and after having taken notice of the pronounc.emeuts of the Prime Minister (Alr. Fraser) and the Leader of the Opposition (IMr. [lolland) Ihe national council of the Federation of Labour has arrived at the eonclusion that so far as the trade union moveipent is Qo„neerried there is-at pre.senfe'no logiFajLMternative to the Litbv our 6oye.rnm"enjhV "*V* i., ' C '* " Coiis'JMus nf its ^esFbnsiljil ity t'o -its 200,000 trade union members and the welfare of its relations and friehds; fhe New Zeaiand Federation of Labour' direets the attention of the people of the Dominion to the accomplishments of the Labour Government over the past Ihe years of peace and six years of war. "We believe that with Jie pvesent volume of production and with equit able distribution, the hope for the future of our fair land is assured under the Labour Government. Therefore we eall upon our members to work, vote, and encourage their relatives and friends and the people of the Dominion to work and vote for the return of the Labour Government on Wednesday, November 27, as a means of preserving the present degree of national security, economic developmcnt, progress, and prosperitv in the future.
